Re-read how George describes graduation at the end of this section. Was he excited or scared? Have you ever thought about your own graduation? Are you excited? Are you scared? Are you nervous?
In the book George describes “graduation day” as a good moment for everyone. He describes how they were dressed, what his parents might be thinking and how his life was about to change forever. As he describes this, his emotions toward this probably were happy emotions/nervousness. I believe George was excited to be graduating but in the end- didn’t know where to go from there. I believe for myself I would probably think the same way. I have thought about my own gradation and I’m pretty nervous. I’m nervous about officially being on my own and being responsible for everything I put out.
I agree with Briana,George was very nervous about finaly gradation.but he was also happy.I was nervous a little bit but I was excited too when I graduation day.I will also try my best in everything I go though.

I have thought about my own graduation day and I'm so excited because I can't wait until I get out into the real world and go off to college then after get a job. I’m not scared because I’m too excited and I’m not nervous now, but I probably will be because it’s going to be the start of my adult life and I can’t wait.
“For our parents, this was a historic event…We had survived the streets of Newark, and that was no small reason to be grateful (George, pg 105).” At the end of this section George shows that he feels very proud of himself, he was excited yet calm. He realized that he is finally fulfilling what he lived up to. I cannot wait until my graduation. I’m excited even thinking about it today. By the time I graduate I’ll be living on my own. I feel as though I’ll prove my parents that I’m independent as I am.
George was a bit upset about leaving his school and going off to college but he was very proud of himself because he was the first person out his family to graduate and go to college. I am excited for my graduation but i am also nervous about what comes after. Once you graduate highschool you are on your way to becoming an adult because evrything after then is on you. You have to focus on finishing your education so you can get a good career and eventually provide for your family.
George was nervous, scared, surprise and didn’t think that graduation was real. He didn’t really expect it to happen he was all in shock. You could say he was excited and he was ready for it. I’m excited for graduation. I can’t wait when I leave this school and go away to college. I’m not scared in anyway. I’m just ready to be out and live my life. I’m ready for anything that comes in my way. The only thing that would really miss would be my friends and the teachers that help me get through this long journey.

He was also very proud because he was the first person to graduate in his family. I am really excited for graduation my senior year, I would like to attend a college get good grades and then go and make good money.
