  1. What keeps Sam going is the people around him, such as his friends he made the pact with and his family. Sam doesn't give up because he knows he worked six years, and came this far, he didn't want to give up on his hope. Not only did he have people who cared, he had people around who embraced him and that were willing to help him. He had so much comfort and he knew he was destined to have another chance. What i would do in a similar situation is keep my faith. i would try my hardest to study, refocus on what i had to do and just keep trying. In the end i know what i was in college for and i wouldn't let myself down.

  2. When Sam does not pass the state-board exam right away he thinks about his family and friends. All the things his mom had sacraficed for him, he would not want to let her down. Not only that but his entire family was supporting him. If i were to be in that same position I would not even think of giving up. To me it is not an option. That would just make me want to do better.

  6. Sam doesn't pass the state board exam right away but he does not give up. He thinks about the pact he made with George and Ramack , and how long it took him to get to where he is. He knows that it would be pointless to give up now after all he been through. He also had people that were there to help him along the way. I would want to give up , but I would think about everything I did to get in that situation and how bad I wanted it. Then I would do everything I could to succeed.

  7. when Sam doesn't pass the state board exam the only reason he kept going was him family. he was ready to just quit but then he remembered all the stuff his family did for him. For example, his mother work two jobs and sending him all the money she own to pay for his tuition and his cousin. if that was me i would never give up because i wouldn't want to let the people that work hard for down and i would make them proud and show them that it was wroth it.

  8. Sam keeps going because of the people around him pushed him to do it. He keeps going because he finally realizes that this is what he wants to do and he is going ti do it. If I was in this type of situation i would be very down to. I would have the motivation of my friends and family because i know they will always be there for me no matter what. I would still be going and pushing myself to do better and better each day.

  11. Even though Sam didn't pass the state-border exam, he never gave up. When he failed he thought of all the sacrifices his mother had made for him to finish school.
